About davidbdale

What should I call you? I prefer David or Dave, but students uncomfortable with first names can call me Professor or Mister Hodges. My ESL students' charming solution, "Mister David" is my favorite by far.

Cards A, C and D. If A has an even number on the flip-side and card C has an even number on the opposite side and D has a letter that isn’t a vowel, then the theory is proven.

I would flip over all four of the cards. This way, you could test out fully if the thesis is tue or not. turning over the E card and 2 card would show if vowels and even numbers are always the same card. Flipping over the G and 3 card would show if any non-vowel or non-even number cards had a vowel or even number on it.

The cards you would have to turn over are A, B, C, and D. All of these cards have either a vowel or an even number on the visible side or and odd number or no vowel. When turning them over you will be able to varify the statement if the even card has a vowel on the opposite side and if the vowel card has an even number on the opposite side. You will also see if the odd number does not have a vowel and if the non vowel does not have an even number.

All of them. The thesis can be disproved if a card with a vowel has an odd number (ex if E card had a 3 on the back), it can also be disproved if G has an even number on the back(card 2), also can be disproved if 3 has a consonant on the back(card 3), or if 2 has a vowel on the back(card 4).

Technically A and C should be turned over.but all of the cards could also be turned over.
