  • We need a lot of words for this paper

WED APR 22

  • Prof. Hodges is a great person for bringing food !!
  • Most of the class is in the back of the room. Im not sure if we were supposed to be there and couldn’t even hear them because the music was too loud. Im leaving soon.

MON APR 20

  • We talked about attracting titles
  • One of our assignments was to give our classmates works a new title and first sentence

WED APR 13

  • Im trying to finish the semester strong but we keep getting so much work
  • We had an in class assignment

MON APR 13

  • We gave a way Sweeney Todd could have denied something.
  • The man in the video did not have to be killed.
  • Its claimed that black cops are just as often or just as likely to kill unarmed & black suspects
  • Its about time they finally treated these cops like the criminals they often are
  • The source that i read shed a little light on the situation but was not right for saying much about the specific case we watched

WED APR 8

  • 239 people disappeared in a flight crash
  • we had a few essays to read in class
  • professor got coffee for the students again

MON APR 6

  • A shopping list can be considered a argument
  • We had an in class assignment that seemed hard at first but it wasn’t.

WED MAR 25

  • A rebuttal is a response. I believe it is usually disagreeing but can be agreeing
  • I found the research tips to be quite helpful
  • We talked about tactics to train animals. Positive and negative reinforcements

MON MAR 23

  • The filter trapping air has something to do with surface tension
  • We have an essay rewrite coming up
  • Power plants produce waste that people dont know how to dispose of
  • There is also a rebuttal paper coming up
  • We briefly talked about large scale farming

WED MAR 11

  • I rated my professor
  • Today we started out talking about subjects and verbs
  • Elephants are tortured. Circus owners torture elephants.
  • We talked about the difference between active and passive nouns

MON MAR 2

  • We began by talking about a drug that caused birth defects in the 50s
  • Prof. Hodges is about to order us pizza. This is rather unusual, funny, and generous
  •  We talked about a saw much safer than regular saws that stop when the detect human contact
  • The pizza smells good but i did not eat

WED FEB 25

  • The word rape has had many different meanings throughout history
  • I posted my definition of rape as “the violation or destruction of someones person or property
  • Apparently my definition of rape was not adequate
  • The next thing we talked about was “stealing” internet use from people
  • We reviewed the expectations for our upcoming assignment on 3/1

MON FEB 23

  • Professor said he will not give us any more assignments for a while
  •  i have made changes on a few of my posts but i should continue to ask for feedback
  • He reminds us to ask for feedback
  • We talked about euthanasia for a while

WED FEB 18

  • Prof. Hodges is analyzing cause and effect
  • Just because something is not physically contagious does not mean someone cant be easily effected
  • We spent a significant amount of time talking about the PTSD article
  • Prof. went over a few students entries and analyzed them to the class

MON FEB 16

  • We talked about  a story  that felt as though death row inmates should have their organs harvested

WED FEB 1

  • We started class by listening to an NPR broadcast that had a counterintuitive topic the professor found
  • We watched a video about warning signs of a stroke. First without sound just to interpret the visual
  • Find sources that have a different point of view than your own is good because it teaches you something or forces you to do more research
  • Prof. Hodges recommends that we take a source and free write ideas while we read.

MON FEB 9

  • Prof. Hodges reminded to take credit for the work we’ve done by tagging our name
  • We are required to schedule 3 conferences throughout the semester throughout the semester
  • In Vancouver they no longer refer to people as him/her. I found this to be quite bizarre
  •  We are no longer allowed to use the words THEIR or THEY in our posts. It is preferred that we use the word WE or OUR.
  • It would be helpful to use the comments prof. Hodges left on our assignment to complete our rewrite
  • Toward the end of the class we talked about how to be more specific in our writings

WED FEB 4

  • Prof. Hodges gave us an idea of how of how he grades our assignments
  • While we gave feedback on his grading scale, Prof. Hodges was nice enough to get coffee for a few students
  • In class we reviewed a classmates post about Stone Money
  • We talked about why pictures seem different when we find out the motive of the photographer

MON FEB 2

  • Professor hodges had one of his former students give us information on the writing center.
  • We will not use the word you. Only the professor may.
  • I had to go back to previous posts and categorize them.
  • Every sentence has to make the reader want to read the next.
  • Throat clearing is like using sentences to prepare readers for a point.
  • We are to choose a counterintuitive topic wo focus on for the remainder or the semester. It does not have to be on he list.
  • Professor talked about ways to make our stone money entries better. We must engage the reader by being moe abstract.
  • Comparing cows and money, in this society they both have value. However a cow has physical, immediate value because you can cook it and eat it and other things.
  • The government does decide the value of money.

WED JAN 28

  • Professor Hodges opened with WAR by Edwin Starr
  • Toward the middle of the class, Profesor Hodges urged us to engage and take notes.
  • In many assignments we will have to produce a hyperlink
  • Professor Dale told us about a preposterous story about a culture called yap and their monetary system using faye (Lime Stone)
  • The gold exchange with France contributed to the great depression
  • The paper dollars we use are worth nothing.
