My Notes – kidhanekoma

WED JAN 28

I do not like this new posting system/theme WordPress uses. But seeing as how I don’t know how to switch back to classic mode yet, I pretty much of to deal with it for now.

Remember to leave My Notes open during class. It indicates whether you are in class or not.

How to create a link within your post.

Highlight a word, then click insert link

Class is about revising your work. As much as you can. Remove yourself from your first draft as quickly as possible. Even if you’re first draft is already good. It helps you to create something better than that.

Assignment Deadlines

– Just do the work on time. It’s that easy. Don’t make it hard for no reason.

– Deadlines are fair. There are no excuses.

MON FEB 2

Today Professor Hodges opened by having one of his past students tell us about the writing lab and tutoring.

He later discussed the grading “code” system. As well as revising portfolio assignments, and requesting grades and feedback.

The mechanics tab is a helpful tool that teaches how to insert links, properly cite material, and edit posts.

The writing tab is a quick in depth “how to” when writing in the class. Useful tips and do’s and don’ts of writing.

– Identify and remove throat clearing

– Do not openly state opinion

– Provide background information when it is needed

– Do not speak in the second person

– Summarize work while still keeping important bits of information.

MON FEB 9

Take credit for all of your posts. To do this, enter your username into categories. Makes finding your previous posts much easier.

Professor David opened class today with conference schedule options. Must have at least three conferences. One before Spring Break, one after Spring Break, one for the end of the semester.

Began discussion about memories. The more we access a memory the stronger it becomes. More information soon forms.

Grammar Lesson

– Proper use of “their, they’re, there” and “it’s, its”.

– Remove gender pronouns as often as you can. Use “they, them, their”. Their is legal with a plural subject. “All writers want their work to be read”. Illegal with a singular subject

WED FEB 11

Remember something by not doing something. You may not remember key details, but you will definitely remember choosing not to do something.

“Top Down” chronology. Put the date at the top of your new notes for the day.

Makes it easier to organize and find notes.

Example of a proper visual rhetoric.

– Works better watching the video a few times with the volume off.

– There are signs in everything. Body language, background images, etc

White Paper discussion: Polio

Strengthen your thesis by researching topics that counter your topic/perspective. It will make you find new ways to counter them and learn more information on your own topic.

MON FEB 16

Chinese Censorship of the Internet

– China seems to be so proud of the censorship they created their anthem for it. The Mind and Spirit of Cyberspace Security. It actually has a fairly catchy melody, despite being fairly messed up.

Propublica

Remain as opinionated as possible.

Harvesting organs of Death Row inmates.

Death by removing organs.

A more humane death penalty? A painless alternative to lethal injection, hanging, and/or electrocution. Generates organs to those who need them.

MON FEB 23

Professor opened with a discussion about cheese. Cheese is pretty wonderful.

Body “yips”. When your body has a something like a jitter and it ruins your momentum.

Feedback/Grading

– Request feedback on assignments. When you receive feedback, reply and ask where you can make corrections, or argue. Everybody loves a nice argument. It’s something most people can learn from.

– Ask for grading on your assignment

White Paper discussion

– Come up with a practical hypothesis for your research topic.

– Develop a strong thesis statement. One that is both grabbing and factual

WED FEB 25

The definition of rape throughout the years. Sexist and treated women as if they did not matter.

Definition essay

– Wi-Fi

– Is using a neighbor’s unlocked internet connection without them knowing actually stealing?

– Is it possible to share an internet connection? Akin to asking a neighbor for sugar.

Definition is argument.

Citing Work

MON MAR 2

Pizza was ordered in class. It was radical

The assignment chart is a useful tool to figure out what assignments need to be completed, need feedback, or need replies.

Different types of claims

But first, pizza party.

Causal claim

Factual claim

Category claim

Quality claim

WED MAR 4

I believe the show professor is referring to is Gotham?

Discussion on claims and the Bosch v. Wec lawsuit

MON MAR 9

Professor For Life – If you want a paper torn apart (but in a constructive way!) Just shoot Professor Hodges a text or e-mail about your paper. Regardless of subject.

How to Open

Techniques to strengthen and grab readers to your introduction.

WED MAR 11

Proper understanding of subjects and verbs to add more “meat” to your arguments.

MON MAR 23

A “science experiment” in a Comp II class?

I think that the reason why the filter was able to capture air is because even though it has space to pour water out, it is also enclosed enough to keep pressure in.

MON MAR 30

Always look at the bigger picture, and think outside of the box. Take what you are being presented at face value, and logically respond to it from both sides.

It is true or false, reasonable or unreasonable, right or wrong.

Logic and ethics.

WED APR 1

Causal Arguments

We often make causal statements whether we notice it or not. It is a normal part of human communication as well as writing.

Immediate Cause

Remote Cause

Precipitating Cause

Contributing Cause

MON APR 6

Every written document can be an argument.

WED APR 8

MON APR 13

What’s Going On is an excellent song. Marvin Gaye is an excellent musician.

As is Sam Cooke.

Assertion and Denial

Assert is more or less a forceful claim

Denial is used to refute a claim but focusing on the technicalities of a subject.

WED APR 15

MON APR 20

Cite sources that are used within your paper. Articles read do not count.

WED APRIL 1

This Charles guy is a lousy person.

Is Hodges a basketball fan? he seems to know his stuff..

When searching for causes, make sure to find the actual cause of something, and not correlation’s

MON MAR 30

I said all four cards needed to be flipped.  Only cards A and D needs to be flipped. Makes sense when I think of it.

Couldn’t fight off the nods, sorry..

50 claims might be a bit to many for this exercise… annoyingly long

WED FEB 25

Todays music choice was strange… Very “arabian nights”.

Use the opposing view of your topic and use it to strengthen the argument. Take what the people that support the view contrary to yours and point out what is wrong about it and why your side is right.

use Wikipedia sources to generate sources. Also use the rowan library sight.

MON MAR 23

welp, Spring break is over =/

Coffe Filter Riddle– Magic??? Sorcery?? NO!! it was the strength of surface tension of the water that held back even the strongest attempts by the weaker oxygen to break through the trap of the coffee filter.  BUT, the oxygen was able to out smart the water by drying the filter, thus eliminating the power of the surface tension. And yet again the city of metropolis is safe, thanks to the wits and smarts of oxygen.

American livestock raising is an UGLY business (learned about it in high school)… but an oh so delicious business…

MON MAR 9

I was in class today

When writing a paper, start with a conclusion, this will set the pace for the essay. Then go to the body, and aim to write the body with the set conclusion in mind. When all that is done, then write the open.

An argument cannot be won in the first sentence, but it can be lost.

WED MAR 4

Love me some southing piano.

Not much to take notes on today.. Mainly working on the assignment

MON MAR 2

Per my usual “Change of the month” habits, I typed out FEB in my date heading before realizing that is was now March.

Prof. David got pizza for the class.. Coolest professor ever?? Possibly.

Thanks again for the pizza, it hit the spot =)

WED FEB 25

For some reason my notes from last class, MON FEB 23 has magically disappeared, even though I was here, and did take notes…

Never start a essay with a definition, quickest way to lose someone’s attention.

Rape is surprisingly difficult to define

Is free Wi-fi REALLY free wi-fi??

WED FEB 18

For some reason, listening to the song “All Along the Watchtower” in the beginning of the class got The Rolling Stones “Give me Shelter” stuck in my head.. Dont know why

MON FEB 16

The Chinese are very proud of their censorship, so proud that it makes them want to sing.  And sing they do.

putting the word harvest with the word organs seems like a weird concept. All though I agree with the idea of doing this to death row inmates.

WED FEB 11

I have never not poured a quart of milk over my head

we went through a very in-depth look at a PSA for stroke awareness, which was very useful for our moving visual essays.

it can be useful to use a source that goes against our beliefs because you can use it to strengthen our argument.

Mon Feb 9

Did not see Professor David being a System of a down fan…

Always take credit for the work we do!

The university of Vancouver have eliminated gender biased pronouns, like him and her.

Use His or her to get rid of the use of the word their to describe one person.

WED FEB 4

we were given examples of what writing looks like at each grade level.

professor Dave got coffee for students, cool dude

introduce a summery with the statement “it seems counterintuitive…” to introduce a counterintuitive idea.

Wed Jan 28

Remember to open My Notes everyday in class.. It will be used as attendance When you finish writing you first draft, you must immediately get rid of the 2-3 best sentences in that draft, because they are the ones restricting you’re best writing.. Remember, the first draft is always ALWAYS pure crap. Yap is an island of Micronesia, near Germany, where the people of Yap lived. their money was giant circular stones, about the size of a man, that were called fay.  The people of Yap had to travel many miles and had to do a lot of work to get these giant stones. The large amount of work it took to obtain these fay is what gave it their value.  The value of the fay were based on the size cut and “shinyness” of the fay. The germans instructed the people of Yap to improve the streets or Yap.  After years of doing nothing, The germans came up with an idea to paint big X’s on the Yap’s fay. this made the people of Yap feel poor, and fixed the streets.  After this was done, the germans erased the X’s and the Yaps felt wealthy again.

Mon Feb 2.

We started the day with the Foo Fighters, great start.

try to avoid the use of the word “you” and other forms of the word, your you’re etc.

throat clearing:  the perceived need to prepare readers for the point that is about to be made.

never use ‘I believe’ or state that something is you opinion, its obvious that an essays is the opinion iof those who wrote it.

there is no need to summaries an entire work or chapter in ones own work, just use the part that makes sense to the point we are trying to make

My Notes–Thegreatestpenn

MON MAY 4

Last class of the semester.  Only have 3 4-credit classes for next semester, public speaker “sold out” despite the fact there are approximately 50 sections… just my luck.  Charlie Hebdo to Portfolio.  Possible change to the portfolio contents.  6 Primary with 2 Secondary Pieces of Portfolio, total of 8.

WED APR 29

Hyperlink the support for the core values in the self reflective statement.  Last day of class is Monday, exams begin on Tuesday, Wednesday is our Portfolio/Grades conferences.  Don’t argue for a lower grade.  Housekeeping and the portfolio category entries.  Class Ends Early

MON APR 27

I’m fairly decent.  Center the title for the paper.  First Letter capitals in the title.  Bold.  Hyper link title in works cited.  Newspaper: “”, publication: italics.  After annotated bibliography, post reply for Boylan’s Folly.

WED APR 22

Robin Hood and Little John walking through the forest.  Think I fixed the keychain access popup for good.  Finished Course Eval.

MON APR 20

Portfolio: 3 argument pieces, final paper, annotated bibliography, and self-reflective statement.  About a week left for the final paper…  Titles for the argument pieces.  Final Paper Qs, written using 3 argument pieces?  Working on the 2 Assignments.  Didn’t get to   desperate house wives.

WED APR 15

The Hennessy Viper GT is the worlds fastest production car with a top speed of 270.49 mph.  Working on feedback for Hashmeesh, Skyblue, and Juggler.

MON APR 13

Video of the encounter.  They talk about how he has no insurance, makes a run for it when cop goes back to cruiser.  Camera footage cuts back in when man runs from cop after confrontation.  Cop shoots several times as man runs away.  Cop acted as judge jury and executioner because the threat concluded when he was running away from the cop.  Blacks are the highest percentage of unarmed police involved shootings but the race of the officers who are involved in the shootings is more equal.  Editorial board seemed to be more emotional and racially charged take on the the situation.  While Charles Blow’s articles seemed to be more unbiased and factual.

WED APR 8

ACLU, non violent crime, what crime did they commit?  Alluded to the idea that they didn’t commit a crime, however, they did.  So what crimes have they been convicted of?  Evaluating the student essay how to start arguments.  Eliminating if/then, eliminate the uncertainty, make an argument!  State what you believe to be the truth without introducing the idea that you may be wrong.  Eliminating if then, got to #6.

MON APR 6

Attended Class

WED APR 1

Professor replies.  Causation: Immediate(immediate reasons), Remote(seemingly old and unrelated), Precipitating(event that causes action), Contributing(One of several events).  Correlations need more explanation or support for it to be a cause.  Birth weight and parent’s IQ are causal.  “Copy to come”? Brief response to causal arguments.

MON MAR 30

Card puzzle(Only Card A), accidentally posted to card puzzle as well as agenda.  Secondary PTSD, for Mac McClellan, she suffers from it due to a shared experience about the Haitian earthquake.  70% accuracy for mammograms, kaiser’s is over 80%, as good as the technology could be.  Long long assignment of moral truthful and reasonableness of the cancer article.  The assignment was confusing though…

WED MAR 25

Rebutting an argument is more than just saying there isn’t enough evidence or saying the evidence isn’t valid.  The rebuttal comes from the specific problems you can identify with their argument(i.e. there was little evidence against the nuclear power being faulty as often as the author of the article alluded to.)  Commenting about using google scholar to find and article and rowan library to get it for free.  May or may not be helpful with my paper on happiness.  Never used google scholar before.  “Positive Reinforcement”, can be a negative thing.  Works Cited for rebuttal argument with parenthetical citations, choose a worthy opponent for the takedown.  Talk to Alex and/or Bobby about your topic.

MON MAR 23

Back from spring break, still getting used to light still being outside when we meet for class.  Surface tension of the water in the mesh allows the filter to act as a single “airtight” cup, allowing the air to become trapped.  Nuclear power rebuttal review.

WED MAR 11

Spring Break approaches…(one class left this week).  Rate the professor.  Elephants are tortured.  Circus owners torture elephants.  Elephants suffer torture.  Passive and Active verbs.  Choose active, avoid passive.  Cream album.  A-W answered.  15 minutes left.  Leaving early. SPRING BREAK! (Don’t worry I’ll get some of the revisions that have been left done :D)

MON MAR 9

Did the professor use the remote to turn on the projector?  Start by writing a conclusion(set a goal), and aim for it.  If you don’t think you’ll make it, change the goal so that you can achieve it.  The truth doesn’t matter when it comes to the first sentences(or at least you don’t have to prove it.)  The pursuit of happiness is the greatest source of unhappiness in the general public.  Making the first paragraph with with 20 min left!

*Professor, I’m considering switching the focus of my happiness essay to encompass contentment rather than happiness.  Feelings of happiness seem more vague than being content with ones life/possessions/friends.

WED MAR 4

Who does Brett look like?  Reviewing the many possible claims in the courthouse news article.  Assigned to article to determine the claims that we will determine.  Government’s Claim about a Commission discussion’s effect on consumers or industry.  This assignment took up the rest of the class time.

MON MAR 2      (See Pizza Below)

Left and right handed molecules, organic (left-handed), inorganic (50/50).  Hair part can help socially.  Everyone is very surprised that we are currently ordering $30 worth of pizza :D.  New chart about missing assignments and whether or not we have posted comments or feedback with respect to our work.  Sawmakers should not be required to install saw stop.  If you cut your hand off with their saw, YOU CUT YOUR HAND OFF. If you buy a rapidly spinning sharp saw and don’t understand the risks, you really shouldn’t be buying a saw in the first place, know what you’re getting into.  (Pizza arrives at 7:30).  Wednesday, types of claims determined for the saw stop assignment.

WED FEB 25

Smooth Criminal Cover: Alien Ant Farm.  Define rape.  Can you really steal wifi(answer is yes!)?  Definition argument for the category/definition essay.  Did governor Whitman steal from government employees, yes, did she mean well, yes, but that’s besides the point.  Sources for the works cited can come from rowan library database (Prof Search, Ref Search).  I personally have yet to use any of the rowan library resources, or writing center resources.  Went over definition essay on whether or not gays are a protected class/ should be a protected class.  Recap with the Riddle of defining Rape. P.S. I didn’t look it up, that was all me.

MON FEB 23

Pen caps may be delivered and received as a projectile.  Engage the professor in comments section.  betterthanyou’s 4 words 4 assignment technique.  I look forward to some help with my hypothesis, it took me awhile to come up with one that I could put down on “paper”.  It is an abstract subject but I do enjoy the subject matter, and believe it is counter intuitive.  One aspect of a research paper, with many facets!  Rewrite/revise/answer comments!  Tricky mechanical editting.

WED FEB 18

Don’t forget to call at 7.  A lot of time will be spent on critical reading posts…

Definition Claim: define what a thing is

Categorical Claim: members or things that belong to a group

Causal Claim: Infer that something causes something else(PTSD develops following trauma)

Contagious is a loaded word.  Has a lot of baggage, makes it seem like the plague so people won’t want to help.  So the secondary PTSD isn’t really from the war, its from the traumatic actions Caleb.  [Thatdude, tagfcomp2, albert, mopar, cptpoostain…skyblue].  Last 15min on mechanical troubles.  “Which” always after a comma, while that is for continuing a thought.  He who, him whom 😀 (always wanted to know that!).  First plural, then posessive (other_).

MON FEB 16

Kronos Quartet.  China and the censorship choir.  Propublica is a news organization about the way news is delivered.  Work and Poetry, write some in your free time about valentine’s day.  Phillip Levine, Mother Jones(some counterintuitive articles; Citizen Troll, breaking Chinese gamers, etc.).  If we don’t feel that a topic is counter-intuitive enough, stick with it and check the angles.  Be certain in your topic, state as fact, but mean that “so you say”, confidence in your opinion/hypothesis.    Youtube channel GOOD.  Harvest of organs could be a viable exectution method, but then the surgeon’s become the executioners…

WED FEB 11

“blackthorn rose” was in the search bar at the beginning of class, the sound of piano and saxophone filled the room.  Begins with NPR broadcast(shots blog) about end of life decisions and when they should be made.  Prof. Hodges living will – Pull the Plug.  Never forget this moment with a quart of milk.  Class review of stroke awareness wedding.  Value or No Value in getting agreeing sources.  Challenge what you think you know, find people who disagree so you can get better ideas.  Think of it like a magnet: if 2 topics agree and confirm one another, theres only one way to go(2 magnets smack together).  However if there are two topics that disagree and don’t confirm one another, then the sky is the limit(They repel and there is an infinite amount of places that magnet can go and do next).  White Paper page; about polio and infectious diseases, why everyone will never get completely vaccinated. Round out the class with some more examples of class analysis of moving visuals.

MON FEB 9

Professor Opens with Devil’s Haircut by Beck and Everlong by the Foo Fighters.  New default for categories(Hey I forgot to categorize!).  Three mandatory conferences, now in Bozorth 134.  Meetings are before and after class 2x a week.  Good memories are lies!  In Vancouver schools people are referenced exclusively by neutral pronouns, or use plural pronouns.  Sticking with singular forces gender, go with plurals to eliminate gender, or…kill the pronouns(useless), or use first person plural(we, our).  Keep ’em straight!  Charlie Hebdo, don’t refer to oneself(my, i, me).  A04 is the rewrite opportunity for A02. Try making a list of 10 vague statements, progressively getting more vague, no specifics whatsoever :D.  A05 is a proposal for the summaries, again, don’t be vague!!!

WED FEB 4

Professor opens up with some smooth blues.  Counterintuitive topics will require a 10-15 source annotated bib, choose the topic well (1 week). Summarize 3 topics by sunday midnight.  Pure and Polished crap…  Eliminate redundant and irrelevant pieces of writing!    Now try the revision test, the rest of this paragraph will be in  a separate version.  Richest man alive: caveman who first discovered diamonds.  Most useless things are the most valuable…GOLD!  START ALL SUMMARIES LIKE SO:

“Is seems counterintuitive that…”; Pick a purpose and extract the relevant information that fits your purpose.  Photographers can be light shed on tragedy or vultures taking advantage of the situation.

MON FEB 2

Professor Hodges opened with Maps by The Front Bottoms.  Rowan.mywconline.com courtesy of Jacqueline from the writing center.  Uncategorized posts are quickly disappearing, yay!  “Feedback_Please” (no underscore) is the magic word.  3D6? Monday Wednesday before after class for conferences.  Local and Global comments are the two different errors/comments.  Mechanics and Writing have appeared!  Old mode easier for adding categories, I agree, older software seems to be getting better and better than the new stuff(Windows XP > Windows 8).  NO SECOND PERSON!(You, your, yours)  Don’t lecture or sermonize, treat them like 3rd person adults.  Shoot pronouns on site!  Throat Clearing: the process by which you prepare the reader for what happens next.  Keep the people reading down the line; 1st to 2nd to 3rd…, don’t give away the ending!  Hook reader-then facts, create the need to know.  Use strong convictions and claims to pass your opinions on to your readers.  Provide information to prove a theory, after the theory has been presented! Doesn’t have to be chronological.  Unecessary to summarize an entire work for support, use only what is needed for support.  Don’t go looking for your truth, research to find the truth, use an open mind when handling your evidence for support.  Strain for the best parts, filet mignon rather than the whole cow.  Check out the counter intuitive topics, select one as the focus of our narrow topics, has to be counterintuitive topic.  Choose wisely.  Use physical tangible objects to portray your writing into the readers mind.  4 5s = $20, government involvement in value.

WED JAN 28

Professor Hodges opened with WAR by Edwin Starr.  Remember to open MY NOTES in order to receive credit for being in class…Went over linking URLs, see above “WAR”, use for citing sources.Mechanics Tab: Coming SoonBest Sentences in first draft are doomed to oblivion(aka trashcan).  They hold back the good wok you are trying to achieve.  We have issues with posting assignments on time…  😦    The Yap live on yap with fei in their pockets, very, very, large pockets (limestone, non indigenous to Yap, 400 miles to get their coins): Similar to France asking for the backing of gold from US Treasury (Fort Knox). $20 worth of potato chips :D.  Brasilia is where the world cup was held this past June.  Economics lesson on inflation (last 15 minutes).

My Notes–Entendu

May 4 – Monday

Je Suis Charlie

Building Portfolios

April 29 – Wednesday

My notes did not save

April 27 – Monday

No filler or repetition

Use Blockquote for Italicized quotes

Earth Day – Wednesday

Did the Course Evaluation on Banner

April 8 – Wednesday

If you’re argument is weak you can leave out a weak premises and hope no one notices, but very easy to refute if someone notices.

Remember this link http://counterintuitive2015.com/2015/04/08/how-to-start-2/

April 1 – Wednesday

Causation Statements – what caused something to happen

Different types of causes – Immediate, Remote, Precipitating, and contributing.

Precipitating – layers – underlying causes

False Causation – some causal, some correlations

Provide more information for essay

You have time to catch up so do it Kyle.

Causal Chain – X causes Y, which causes Z.

March 23 – Monday

The air cannot escape because of the surface tension of the water.

Spotting arguments and spotting flaws and looking at information.

How do you refute? You find the other persons evidence. You could give as much evidence as you want and it might not be enough.

March 11 – Wednesday

Weak (passive) – Elephants are tortured.

Stronger (active) – The circus owners torture elephants.

Strongest (Active) – Elephants suffer torture.

Verb makes a claim, instead of says write refutes.

Active does something

Passive is being done too.

March 9 – Monday

Professor for Life

Do your introduction last, and do your conclusion early.

When you’re finished you go back to introduction and make the boldest and most thought provoking claims in your introduction.

Make a thought provoking argument for the first sentence.

You can lose the argument in the first sentence.

March 4 – Wednesday

My guess was wrong. I thought of Gotham but I didn’t want to guess it out loud.

Come to meeting with an agenda.

One small claim is untrue, then the whole claim can be said to be untrue.

March 2 – Monday

*Remember to change hair part*

Professor Hodges orders us pizza.

Make a conference appointment.

Review new counterintuitive topics

If you cant find claims, you’re not looking hard enough.

The pizza was palatable and I wish I did not go to Chick-Fil-a before class.

February 25 – Wednesday

Definition Essays – Takes the definition and can define through moral value, law, and define every single thing that the word defined word could mean.  Think about loopholes.

A definition can be an argument.  Define from new perspective.

Never actually told definition.  The definition is the argument that establishes terms  under which the rest of proof will be conducted.

2 sources on work cited page

February 16th – Monday

Think of new ways to approach topics other then collecting and relating.

Need to be certain your position is correct.

Be as opinionated as you can be.

February 9th – Monday

Schedule an appointment for grade conference.

Make a singular gender choice or make everything plural.

February 4th – Wednesday

Remember to put all the posts under Author to take credit for it.

Went over grading. “A ‘C’ is a ‘D’ and a ‘D’ is an ‘F'”

You can look at an earlier save if you go to edit and click on an earlier save.

Always leave feedback on the feedback.

Serve a purpose with your summary- draw any conclusion you would like – use the material to create and conclusion you would like.

Start with “It seems counterintuitive that…” and make that your thesis.

February 2nd

Professor opened with Maps by The Front Bottoms

I did not hit update on the notes I don’t know why but thats why they are not here.

WED JAN 28 Professor Hodges opened with WAR by Edwin Starr. Open your notes and write something important that shows you participated in class if you are here. You can attach a link by highlighting a word and hitting the chain things. As long as you put something reasonable in by the deadline you can always edit it before the grade. Your first draft is always crap, no matter how great you think it is, even if it is great, its still crap. Yap was an island in Micronesia- in Pacific owned by Germany. 1904- Anthropologist wrote a book about the people of Yap and their Stone Money – HUGE LIMESTONE DISKS Nearest Limestone is 400 miles away. Shaped and brought Limestone on canoes. Stone Money – Fay Anyone could hold their fay but if its theirs than thats all their riches. Man made best Fay ever-lost it but people told story about how great this Fay was and therefore was the richest man on the island. Germans wanted paths built so they were up to code with them. Germans impoverished their fay until they repaved the road. France wanted gold from US but did not want trouble and expense so US set it aside for France. INFLATION

  • Nancy Pelosi is the minority leader of the United States House of Representatives, and a year after Hurricane Sandy she made a speech addressing the fact that Congress has to take care of the damage done by this storm. She says how the federal government has a responsibility and owes these people, yet so many of those who suffered have not gotten back into their homes. Pelosi understands the government and what should be happening in order to help the homes that were destroyed and all the lives that were lost.

Evidence that is logical and follows reasoning. Power plants that failed in Fukishima were built on a fault line and right on the ocean, whereas power plants elsewhere may be, and are, more strategically planned for. So the argument that power plants are bad, because Fukushima’s plant was bad, is invalid and not a solid rebuttal. ////////// MARCH 23 2015 Pixies – Greens and Blues Fruit-loop baths Snow-Birth-Day Coffee Filter-

The coffee filter was wet when put under the water, which leads me to believe the preexisting water caused a barrier between the mesh and air outside, trapping the air under the mesh as a bowl would.

The Fei of Yap were large, huge limestone disks. ~5ft. Bigger, shinier, smoother Fei is more valuable. NO LIMESTONE ON YAP. 400 miles in canoe, to island with limestone, carve it there, bring it back. Huge expenditure of work, gave it its value. The Fei were presented in front of homes/huts. No one needed to move Fei, just changed possession. Wealthy Yap in 1904 sent others to limestone and carved an enormous Fei, which sank during a storm. “wow you should have seen this”. No proof needed, people of Yap honored the story. To this day, three generations later, the guy’s descendant is still wealthiest. The germans who owned the island wore shoes and used carts. The Yap were barefoot and walked on coral paths. “Confiscated” the Fei by painting them. The Yap, fixed roads, then Germans removed the black marks. FORT KNOX. Gold no one has ever seen. Brazil, ~1950. President wanted to build a new capital. Not enough money. Printed a lot of money (cruzeros). Lasted about 40yrs. Inflation was 80%/month.
