Core Value 1. My work demonstrates that I used a variety of social and interactive practices that involve recursive stages of exploration, discovery, conceptualization, and development.

For the first core value my rebuttal argument helps demonstrate the use of interactive practices and social. I was not sure what people take on my topic because it is pretty straight forward. I thought that there were not going to be people who were mostly on my side. This was obviously not true and asked around and found on social media that people only believe that exercising helped someone physically. This helped develop my rebuttal argument because it led me in a direction that I could defend my topic. I could then gather more information from sources that are on the topic that my opposition believes.

Core Value 2. My work demonstrates that I read critically, and that I placed texts into conversation with one another to create meaning by synthesizing ideas from various discourse communities.

My causal argument demonstrates core value two in multiple ways. I used a lot of sources because I needed to back up my stance and make the reader understand the topic more. There were a bunch of different sources that were used that I went back and changed so that it made more sense while the person is reading. There were a few sources that made sense to change because it did not fully make sense to my topic. So I researched and found studies that backed up my argument and made it stronger. I placed these quotes in specific spots to help the reader understand my statement before or after it was said.

Core Value 3. My work demonstrates that I rhetorically analyzed the purpose, audience, and contexts of my own writing and other texts and visual arguments.

My Visual Rhetoric demonstrates core value three the most. The Visual Rhetoric made me understand my audience and who I was writing to. I had to understand that my readers were basically deaf while reading my work. They had to react to the video with no noise, just watch and understand what was happening through my writing. So I made sure to be descriptive and used words that made sense to someone who was viewing that could not hear. Made sure that I grabbed my audience. Being descriptive and making sure I used certain words to let the reader know that something specific was happening.

Core Value 4: My work demonstrates that I have met the expectations of academic writing by locating, evaluating, and incorporating illustrations and evidence to support my own ideas and interpretations.

My rebuttal argument demonstrates core value four well. In my rebuttal argument I made sure to do heavy research into the information I was consuming and using. This is so that my opposition could respect my argument and not think that I was pulling random things. I made sure to state a specific study that was done over multiple years and that was proved to be right. This took time because I had to make sure the research was accurate. I feel like the information from the study was huge in backing up my argument.

Core Value 5. My work demonstrates that I respect my ethical responsibility to represent complex ideas fairly and to the sources of my information with appropriate citation.

My definition argument shows core value five the most. In my definition argument I had to make I was giving all the information that I have found in my research process. I also had to make sure that I was citing the research from the hard working authors who published it. I made sure to citing properly and respect everyone’s perspective on the topic and exercising can not only help one physically but mentally. I showed ethical ways of bringing these opinions into my writing and making sure I was not repeating anything.
