Core Value 1. My work demonstrates that I used a variety of social and interactive practices that involve recursive stages of exploration, discovery, conceptualization, and development.

I think for the most part my way of demonstrating my work to a variety of practices would have to be my Research paper. In that article I used a variety of ways to push my agenda and to see how much I could research and write on a topic but it was not something that was done overnight but needed trial and error to complete. At first I originally thought my writing was good but not perfect and could potentially get some work. With the interaction of people giving opinions and help on writing it truly helps and pushes me to be a much stronger writer as whole. Now I have begun to be more confident in my writing.

Core Value 2. My work demonstrates that I read critically, and that I placed texts into conversation with one another to create meaning by synthesizing ideas from various discourse communities. 

In my next value I can say I very much demonstrated this idea by adding in evidence from other articles in my causal argument. In my article I was using a good amount of quotes that were good for the article but I was having trouble originally trying to mention them in the correct manner. I learned the correct form in which to credit the authors or sources I located the information from and learned from my mistakes. As I continued on I was able to add quotations in the right manner to keep my writers engaged and focused on my writing. With this I am able to make my writing much more efficient and better all around.

Core Value 3. My work demonstrates that I rhetorically analyzed the purpose, audience, and contexts of my own writing and other texts and visual arguments.

In this way I demonstrate my analyzing and writing skills, the best example I could give would be my visual rewrite where I precisely picked out every detail in the video. In the paper we needed to analyze a 30 second commercial and talk word for word about what we are visualizing. The thing that made the task much more interesting was that every second mattered in the footage as you needed to talk about each part of it. This assignment helped me be much more intricate and detailed about my papers and helped me be able to better express that. Now with this assignment my readers will carry a better understanding of the paper.

Core Value 4: My work demonstrates that I have met the expectations of academic writing by locating, evaluating, and incorporating illustrations and evidence to support my own ideas and interpretations.

The next assignment in which I demonstrated this version of the core value would have to be from my Definition Categorical Argument assignment. In this paper, I used an array of sources to imply my stance and argument and in the assignment I mentioned the different people being affected by this problem. I was able to take out important people that are valuable to the problem and I was able to add their perspectives and issues in the stories. In that I was able to express the many sides to writing that deal with opinions and stances. This value showed me how to incorporate other people’s ideas into creating a self evaluating opinion.

Core Value 5. My work demonstrates that I respect my ethical responsibility to represent complex ideas fairly and to the sources of my information with appropriate citation. 

For my final value I was able to use an example as well from my causal argument. In the article I used a variety of sources to make a certain point in my paper and it was much more useful to create ideas with sources and examples. I was able to make sure these authors were cited in the proper manner so there would be no stolen information from articles or sources that were not given the right credit. This value is very important because it helps people to avoid people from stealing and cheating on articles and gives students the chance to reference sources in order to help the students out.
