Yap small country owned by Germany
Fei was Yap’s money. Fei were large limestone disc that people had to sail 400 miles to another island with limestone since Yap had no limestone. The larger the stone the more it’s worth.
Wealthiest man on Yap has a fei that’s in the middle of the ocean that no one alive has ever seen.
Germans wanted the roads fixed so went around and painted X’s on all the fei and made the Yap feel poor so the Yap fixed the roads then got their fei back, similar to the depression in the US.
Moved gold from Fort Knox over a couple feet and said it was from France. This made the French frank worth more than the US dollar.
It all sounds crazy when you say it, mopar! 🙂
